EXCESS is about the ways in which our culture is oversaturated, how we overproduce, overconsume. The project consists of several collages focused on different aspects of a world, and highlighting how pervasive each of these behaviors are, and drawing attention to the ways we expand and conquer the world around us. Each collage attempts to create a disorienting, overwhelming feeling. Visually they mimic an overcrowded city, with buildings stacking on top of each other, distorting perspective and separating the viewer from reality. Our society is constantly evolving, constantly growing, and because of that we are running out of room. Things fall apart, fall into disrepair because we are too preoccupied with making something even more new.
