This body of work hones in on a dark part of myself that I have had trouble understanding or putting into words. Inspired by Francesca Woodman and Frederick Sommers work, I wanted the series to be slightly off-putting, or disturbing. We all have had dark fleeting thoughts or images in dreams that we push away. Since I was young I began to experience intense dark thoughts, ideas, and dreams. Ignoring the images turned to paranoia. In order to confront the images, I needed to remove what I held inside for so long. In order to let go I've reached into my head to externalize the images representing my own and maybe evoke the same sense of disturbance they reaped in my head for so many years.
