“Rough Road Ahead” is meant to be a visual representation of my subconscious and the way I deal with my life. I have always been drawn to traffic cones, signs and the aesthetic of construction work. I have come to realize this is because of the lack of stability within my personal life and my inability to control a lot of things going on right now. Being aware that I am not totally in control has been hard to accept but has always been there, why is it that I am drawn to objects that are specifically telling me what to do? Why don’t I always listen to them? It is easier to look at my life as a work in progress than to continuously get upset that I am not where I want to be yet. This body of work is meant to show growth within myself, my emotions and how I see my current state of mind.
